I'm Sterre Heijnen, a photographer from The Netherlands inspired by a deep passion for nature, travel, and adventure. My Journey
My love for photography began long before I understood it as a profession. As a child, I rarely went anywhere without a small digital camera in hand, documenting family holidays and the little moments that caught my eye. Photography became my way of holding onto memories and preserving the feeling of a place long after I had left.
As my curiosity for travel grew, so did my appreciation for the natural world. The mountains, forests and coastlines I explored became more than destinations—they became a source of inspiration and a reminder of how deeply connected we are to the places around us.
Today, photography allows me to combine those passions. Whether I'm capturing remote landscapes, outdoor adventures or destination experiences, my goal is to create images that tell authentic stories, evoke a sense of place, and inspire others to explore and appreciate our little planet.
How I tell stories
I believe the strongest images come from patience, presence, and a genuine connection with the environment. My approach is rooted in observing the world as it unfolds — capturing authentic moments, natural interactions, and the unique character of each place.
My camera goes wherever I go, whether hiking through remote landscapes, climbing in the mountains, or exploring new environments. Being part of these experiences allows me to create imagery that goes beyond documenting a place.
